Hello Everyone, This is technically my 100th entry. Although originally I created this blog to promote shows and other news about my band. So officially about another 25 posts or so will be the 100th entry where I’m actually writing. which will probably only be a few more months from now, if by then you haven’t gotten sick of coming here and reading what I have to say of course. Either way, thank you in advance it’s much appreciated. Even with all the years I’ve put into this, I’m still learning and trying to find ways to gain more readers and visibility. The point is, we should always be looking to improve things and moving to the next step. As I’ve said before in some way or the other, for an ambitious person being content his death. it’s okay to be proud of what you’ve done so far, but there’s always something we can learn and improve upon and I shouldn’t be viewed as a burden.
Even with the many years I have spent performing in creating music, there are times where it seems like it but I have done thus far in the grand scheme of things is not much. I was thinking this the other night as I was putting brand new strings on my acoustic guitar that you may have seen me playing on a live Facebook video or on YouTube. No matter how long you been playing, this is usually something most guitar players get excited about. however like I told you I was starting to have some doubtful feelings about all the years I’ve spent playing music. But as I was collecting the old strings and coiling them up together, I looked at them and remembered how somebody actually paid $25 the set of strings I used on my Fender Stratocaster during the recording or last album. Some people would wonder why anyone would want some used guitar strings, but if you love the music that much there’s no questioning why. We also put our drummer’s sticks up for sale, which at least came autographed. Either way it’s still nice to know that somebody enjoys what we’re doing so much that they would be willing to pay for souvenir like that.
I’m glad that I taught myself to celebrate any victory, no matter how big or small and be grateful for anything that I’m able to do. Of course the last time I did this it was a bit of an oxymoron, as I treated myself to an ice cream cone after coming very close to reaching the desired weight that I’ve been trying to get at for over a year. I didn’t make that same mistake today after this being the first time I’ve done a full 30-minute elliptical exercise since before the pandemic. So I guess you really do live and learn LOL. The thing is that these days is so easy to slip into that pattern of negative thinking, anxiety and doubt. I don’t need to remind anybody of what’s happening in the world right now. But I can assure you that there are plenty of ways to reach your goals and obtain the life you desire. Easier said than done of course, and it’s not just about putting in the work and hoping that things will fall into place. Many of us are programmed to think outwardly and feel that our surroundings and circumstances ultimately dictate our lives. We have fear instilled in us from a very early age and unless you haven’t really been paying attention to what’s been going on in the world this past year, you’ll know that fear still plays a big part in the way people act and interact with others. Ironically enough, when you focus on your fears of what could happen here drawing them closer to you. Easier said than done of course but if we’re able to look inwardly and see what we need to change we can manifest the changes that we want in our lives. I’m not saying to keep everything to yourself and never seek guidance or opinions of those you trust. The choices are ultimately yours and other people have their own journey to focus on. We all need a bit of help sometimes, but asking somebody to overextend themselves for our needs is simply burdening them and throwing things off balance. The first step to change is being confident in the fact that you have solutions within you already. Easier said than done of course, afterall change never is. but there are plenty of resources that can help anybody slowly come to these realizations. I have mentioned some before, but I will include another here.
I know most people feel these changes are nearly impossible. And those people are right, because they think it is. I’ve been around people who feel they’re forced to work the same work the same job, day in day out, year after year because it’s either that or being poverty-stricken. And in some circles, these people say the same thing verbatim. And recently a depression,Anxiety and other mental health issues are on the rise and if you are suffering from these, it needs to be addressed as part of the changes neccesary to live the way you want to. I don’t think surviving should include doing something that is starving you in other ways. Think of how many people give up playing music, writing, painting etc. Because of the demands of work and life. Most people can’t conceive of the fact that they could make a living creating their art, and because they think that they are right.
This time of alleged uncertainty and panic has stiffled the progress of many, but has fueled others. Their are people that have created things to help us stay safe right now. Such as the products made by “Nanoseptic”, which makes self cleaning surfaces for door handles, elevator buttons, etc. You can find out more about it here non this video I made about Nanoseptic Although what we can do has been limited, it should not be wasted. That’s why I decided to use a piece another of another song with wasted in it. This was a spoken word piece from the Doors written and spoken by Jim Morrison. Technically this album, “An American Prayer” is Morrison with the music of the Doors. But they were very firm in their beliefs to be looked upon and operate as a unit. In fact, at show an announcer made the mistake of introducing them as “Jim Morrison and the Doors”. Jim immediately made the announcer go out and correct his mistake. This line was also used on a song off their last studio album “LA Woman” but I like to include “Stoned Immaculate” because of the poetry and meaning. Not to mention the fact that he mentions the sky, which I often refer to as a reminder of infinite possibilities (go look for yourself, day or night).I can recite, word for word with exact delivery in phrasing and pauses between words. That is what happens when you listen to something on repeat while going to sleep. Something that is reccomended with the other video I am going to share with you. I could tell you again about how much the Doors have influenced me and the time my friend’s Dad saw him at a house party, but I want to stick with the thought I am trying to share. And that is that if we change within, everything outside can too. And their is no reward in wasting what you could accomplish. People attract change without even being aware of it. The example that comes to mind is from a book called “the Power of Your Subconscious Mind” by Joseph Murphy. He tells of a Man that has a terminally ill Daughter who repeatedly said “I’d give my left arm for my Daughter not get better.” As fate had it, that’s what happened. He had his arm out his car window and an upcoming truck tore it from the Man’s body and suddenly without explaination, his Daughter was miraculously in perfect health! As gruesome as that is, it is the best example of manifestation that I have heard. Most people most likely won’t be able to do something like that unknowingly and fast but that’s what you are doing when repeat something, you’re telling your subconscious what to do. And that’s why I said those who say they can’t are right because they told themselves they can’t and that’s what they manifested. I myself had recently had an issue with all the negative thoughts surrounding my work and it made me anxious and unsure of what to do. Which these days is very easy to fall into. That got me nowhere! I luckily found the video that I am about share with you and the transformation has started from that point on. I know things will work out and I will be able to live the was my I want to. Usually it will happen without you knowing you manifested what you desire. It takes time and effort to discover that path knowing that you will. Picturing yourself doing so,feeling as if you already have. Not only that you must take what Robert Zink another mentor of mine calls “Inspired action”. Don’t just sit around waiting for things to come to you. Do some research, work on changing habits, create a vision board, write down your thoughts and ideas that with the mindset that you can do (without even thinking about it) will pull things to you like a magnet. If you think you can’t devote the time into doing so, you are accepting the life you have no matter how unfuffilling it maybe. After all this time and effort In have spent, I will not allow my gifts to be wasted. And neither should you. If I did, I wouldn’t deserve to be sharing with you right now.
Thank you all for reading once again. I hope this helps you and feel free to message me if you need any other resources. I hope I inspired you to take steps or even one step closer to the life you would like to live. Thanks again and best of luck to you all.
Nate,xoxo
